May 14th 2017, President Xi attended the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. He announced that China will hold International Import Expo from 2018,which could provide convenience for foreign products to enter China and offer an international platform for business trade of different countries.
Exhibition industry is always called as “the benchmark of economic development”. With the Belt and Road initiative, China would hold International Import Expo from 2018. That could not only make full use of the advantage of exhibition, but also with a more important ability to enhance trade facilitation, strengthen investment cooperation and promote sustainable development. We can know that China has already had two mature imported commodities fairs, Yiwu and Linqi.
Since the full implementation of Two-child policy in 2016 the maternal and child supplies market will usher in the golden development. The market scale of this industry is expected to exceed 3 trillion Yuan. To conform the needs of market and the Belt and Road initiative, the 2017 International Brand of Mother, Baby and Child Expo (Guangzhou) (short for IMBC), which jointly organized by Guangzhou Commerce & Exhibition Promotion and Service Center, Guangzhou Banyan Convention and Exhibition Service Co., Ltd, Shengzhen Sheng Exhibition Co., Ltd., Events PhD Ltd., eWerks Inc., V2 Decoration Ltd., Peterek Inc. and CEM (HK) Event Solution Co., Ltd. would be held in Guangzhou. It is the first import exhibition in maternity and child industry.
IMBC will be held in Guangzhou International Sourcing Centre (Pazhou, Guangzhou) on Nov 10th to 12th, 2017. Over 500 international high-end brands from more than 20 countries, including Canada, Holland, Germany, UK, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Korea and etc. are invited. During the same period, a top premier in South China maternity and baby industry would be launched. Activities like ‘2017 Global Mother, Baby & Child Industry Forum’, including ‘China maternity and baby development forum’, ‘international maternity and child experience exchange conference’, ‘chains of mother and baby development forum’, ‘mother baby and child industry investment and financing conference’, ‘development of child education forum’ would be held during the same time. These activities are to help foreign brand to analyze Chinese market and be prepared to enter Chinese market. Meanwhile, they could help Chinese company to know more about the need of foreign market and provide a platform for them to the foreign market.
The Belt and Road initiative comes from China, benefit to the world. It would strengthen the economy interact between China and relevant countries.
According to data from Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, 2014-2016, trade amount between China and countries along the Belt and Road is surpass 3 trillion USD. In the next five years, China will import goods from countries and regions along the Belt and Road with an amount of 2 trillion USD.
Import exhibition that the Belt and Road initiative advocated is not only to promote Chinese economic development and enhance the level of opening, but also enrich people’s consumer choices.
